they aren't hard to hit or anything just smaller than SNES/playstation/xbox buttons. The face buttons are small like gameboy buttons/ joycon. The grip buttons are something else that takes some getting used to, but they aren't needed for emulation. The shoulder buttons are big and clicky but not as loud as the Xbox one shoulder buttons. The triggers are really similar to the Gamecube because they are analog with a digital bump on bottom-out, but they are hinged not linear like the gamecube and don't have quite as much travel. I think it's to make the touchpads easier to use, but it takes some getting used to. It has really bulky hand grips especially toward the ends of the grips. The steam controller has different ergonomics to anything I have ever used. nothing beats playing around with it though. I'll list off a bunch of stuff about it to give you a feel for it to see whether you would like it. It's fully customizable so it will technically work with any application on your computer.
